There is something very special about the East End of Long Island. I hope to create images that reflect Long Island's remarkable beauty and uniqueness. I try to capture in my paintings the open farmland, the varied crops that grow here, the invisible workers, the life that flourishes out of our surrounding waters and all those in our community who are able to partake in this special environment. I could only wish that my art would bring awareness to the importance of preserving this remarkable land, water and lifestyle that thrives from it.
My watercolor paintings achieve a certain level of realism. Realism grows from the many layers of different colors, starting with the lightest pigments to the darkest. Finding a balance of water and pigment to create shadows and light.
