Artist Statement
Painting with watercolor gives me the opportunity to bring my love for the East End of Long Island to everyone.
My images are inspired by the beauty and unique characteristics of this area, from the open space of the farmland, to the surrounding waters. I have recently embarked on a series of watercolors that highlight the people who shape the East End through their hard work, dedication to the environment and especially a passion for what they do. The painting finds beauty in the scene while commemorating their effort. I paint by building up color and shadow that slowly unfolds into realism. I hope to bring awareness of the importance of preserving the Long Island farm, the natural bounty of the bay and the lifestyle that surrounds it.
