Artist Statement
Landscape painting is a practice that always fascinates me. I, as the artist, have the power to transform a blank canvas into a different place and time. The emotions I feel from these places merge with my memories while I build the landscape with my brushes from ground up. This process is an act of daydreaming that relaxes me. I paint from photographs I have taken on travels around the North East. After painting for a while, I put the reference photos down and allow the painting to communicate the required finishing touches. I hope that my audience can be transported to the places I remember by viewing my landscapes.
