Artist Bio

I am a North Fork of Long Island based artist. Born and raised on Long Island to a family of 4th generation farmers, specialty grocers and farm tractor/car designers, who immigrated from Ireland and Germany. I was educated in New York, Massachusetts, and in Dublin, Ireland. I am a contemporary landscape artist, specializing in acrylic and oil paintings of my beloved North Fork and Ireland.

All my life, I have loved to express myself creatively through drawing, sketching and screen print-making first as a teenager and then finally focusing on painting as an adult. I have worked in the legal field most of my life but have also worked as an educator and small museum director. My life took an unexpected turn in March 2016, when I was involved in a car accident in which I sustained major injuries that led to my return to art. Painting was an essential part of my healing process.

My work focuses on light and color but also details, whether I paint rural landscapes, seascapes or figurative work but am primarily a landscape painter.
